It has been a long gestation, and we know we made our web developer’s life a little more complicated by starting Franglais Kitchen before the new site was ready, but we hope you feel it is easier to navigate.
Jo Waltham runs Callia Web design and is a wonderful, web designer with a ‘can do’ attitude to does freelance work for bloggers and small businesses as well as running an excellent and informative micro business hub that is packed full of advice and support. Some of the stuff on productivity has even helped me a total non business minded person.
And what do you think about our new Logo?
One thing we have done is pull in all the posts from the old blog – Working London Mummy and this has revived our own motivation as following a frenetic relocation we had lost a bit of cooking and blogging mojo.
Moving over to wordpress, we wanted to develop a tool that allowed us to use our love of combining complementary flavours in new or slightly different pairings. Here you will find a recipe search tool that has a twist. You can choose an ingredient you want to cook with, see what flavours match it and select something that inspires you. Take a look at the Inspire me page. In our minds we wanted something more animated but given that we have a limited budget that may be something we look to do in a future web development. No doubt with the lovely Jo involved.
We have added a blogroll, it is just some of the blogs we love. It will no doubt expand as we remember to include ever more of the wonderful food blogs that inspire us. We hope you will visit some of them. They are all great reading, great inspiration or novel and different.
Interestingly workinglondonmummy.com has been nominated for the MAD Blog Awards this year. I understand that since that site now redirects to here, and essentially all its posts are now held in Franglais Kitchen, we can consider this a nomination (the food blog category) which whilst we do not expect to lead to any glory, is a rather nice feeling since we certainly did not even expect any recognition having been a little dormant for a few months, but we will show the badge for a while and if you feel like voting you can do so here.
So all we can say now is thank you for visiting, for commenting and for sharing our posts.
We hope to be more responsive now that life is settling down. We do read and try to reply to as many comments as we can.
If you have any ideas, thoughts on comments on how we should develop the blog (as with all such efforts it is a work in progress) please let us know!
