Now that summer is reliably on the go, we are looking at dusting the cobwebs off our barbecue. Smoke infused, chargrilled food does not need much to perk it up. If you are entertaining though, we have some ideas for barbecue food. Mains, sides and sweets to make on your grill this weekend.

These Monkfish and Prawn Brochettes are simple, lightly spiced and with low prep time you won’t be stuck in the kitchen at your barbecue party.
If you have a temperature gauge on your barbecue (like a Weber or a Big Green Egg), why not try a low and slow cooking process for this delicious lamb recipe. Meltingly soft meat, marinaded overnight with a spicy, fruity mix. We served it up with grits, but it would be equally good piled into tacos or soft grilled buns.
Here are a couple of recipes that prove you don’t need to restrict vegetables to the side when it comes to a great barbecue – this marinated grilled tofu is served up on zucchini (courgette) noodles. Healthy, light and super quick to make.
Whilst Asparagus is just about in season, try chargrilling them along with some sweetcorn. Here we shucked the corn and scattered it over the asparagus with some peanuts and dressing.
Some pickled vegetables will add a nice bite to any burgers and wraps you might be making. They are so easy to make. Try this pickled cabbage with some lamb.
If you want some flavourful sauce recipes to go alongside your traditional barbecue sauce, try our Tamarind and Date chutney or this Coconut and Coriander one. Both are easy to whizz up and worth making extra to pep up sandwiches in the week.
So there you have it, our repertoire of barbecue ideas.
