Freshly baked cinnamon rolls on a rainy weekend. What could be lovelier.
How hard can it be to mess it up?
Note to self:
1. Do not use yeast that is even slightly out of date. The dough will not rise and you will have to try again…
2. Do not try and halve the recipe quantities off the top of your head and then forget half way through so you then have to frantically go back and double everything back… write it down next time
Anyhow, I ended up using a recipe from the Pioneer Woman website (somewhat scaled down in quantity but and with considerably less frosting on top to alleviate a little my risk of inducing a diabetic coma..)
There is a recipe on the ‘ThingsWeMake’ website that looks delicious too (it uses a mix of strong and normal plain flour so a different texture. I didnt have the strong flour to hand that day hence the Pioneer Woman recipe).
All I can say is give it a go – it is very therapeutic and very delicious and the house smells divine.
Do not however be too alarmed at the amount of butter, sugar and indeed cinnamon that is needed.
